What's virtual, stationary, politically correct and rendered in the public sphere?
Artist book (CD with powerpoint presentation, poster, steel case), 2007
We analyzed over 1000 art-related texts, mostly exhibition announcements, taken from a local mailing list.
Our goal - all along the lines of our focus on the mythical figure of the artist - was to understand how the art scene represents itself in its writings. In which ways express artists and institutions their motivations and intentions? What does this texual representation tell us about their self-conception? We identified "clusters" of expressions that seem to play crucial roles. The analysis of our results was summarized in a powerpoint presentation. This was edited as an artist book (steel case, CD, poster - see image above).
