Interventions in the public sphere, Quint Gallery, La Jolla 2012
Over the course of numerous long discussions about art (see our statement), certain sentences kept stuck in our heads: short, enigmatic statements, maybe like a random line of a poem, or a phrase overheard in a conversation. These sentences have become one of our trademarks. In our projects, we re-inject these sentences back into the art-world - this time with chalk in front of an art gallery (Quint Gallery, San Diego).
Chalk, while often used within the context of education and scholarship, is also a transient medium, alluding to the ephemeral nature of our sentences. To the gallery people as well as the occasional passers-by, they appear like a strange, enigmatic uttering, getting washed away by the next rain._
